YES!!!! I will always say yes to your furry babies getting involved in your sessions! Whether it’s based in your home and you’re hoping your pet will come for a snuggle, or some playful images with your doggie while we’re out on location, I am here for the pets! If we are heading out on location it can be helpful to have walked your dog beforehand so they’re not too over-excited, and if possible take along someone who won’t be in the pictures (either at all or not in all of them) so that you’ve got someone to keep an eye on the dog if we’re trying to get images just of the humans. And bring treats, all the treats!

To book in for your session you can either pop me an email or fill in the contact form on the website. Pop over as much information as possible about what you’re hoping to book - if it’s a newborn session it’s handy to know your due date, if it’s a family session it’s handy for me to know roughly when you’re hoping to have the session and how many people will be attending, and also if you have a location in mind that you’d like to go and explore. I’m more than happy to chat back and forth to make sure we get all the plans perfect, especially for something like a maternity session where you might want some help with what to wear or if we’re getting creative. Once you’ve made contact we’ll sort a date out and I’ll get everything in to my system for you, this sends out your deposit invoice along with a contract and questionnaire, securing your slot and making sure I have all the information I need from you before your session!

Neutrals are definitely best for any type of session, neutral colours photograph so nicely, especially when we’re at a location like the beach! And making sure that you’re coordinated as a family just helps to pull the images together. So for example if you choose to wear a white dress, your husband might wear a beige jumper and your little one might have on a sage romper, all colours that look beautiful together but you’re not all wearing a beige jumper! When choosing between items of clothing I would go for items you feel comfortable but amazing in! Floaty dresses with a cosy, chunky knit cardigan on top always looks so nice (and this is Scotland after all, we need the layers!!), or jeans and a nice top that you love. Coordinating with the location and season really help too, so I wouldn’t wear something super glam to the beach and I would be digging out all my rust/mustard and autumn colours for a session in October.

I’ve got a list of locations that I love and head to regularly, including the likes of Balmedie beach, Haddo House and Old Aberdeen. However I’m really happy to head almost anywhere within Aberdeen or the shire! I really love going somewhere that is special to you and your family, perhaps somewhere that you go for lots of walks or the spot your partner proposed at! There are so many beautiful spots in this part of Scotland that we’ll be sure to find somewhere that you love. I’m also able to travel if you’re out with Aberdeen and would like to book in!

Your gallery is normally ready for you to view around two weeks after your session, although I’ll give you a better estimate on the day we shoot. I take my time narrowing down your images to make sure I keep all the best ones, and then edit everything to about 90% finished for your gallery. Any images that you order will be fully edited so they look perfect! Your images are uploaded in to a private online gallery that you are able to view in your own time and send on to your friends and family so they can have a look through your images too.

The whole family is welcome to come along to your maternity session - absolutely! We will always take time to make sure we get a variety of groupings with your partner and children, as well as lots of images on your own with bump. It’s such a special time for the whole family, and often the last opportunity to get pictures of your family as it is before your new addition arrives.

Pretty much as far ahead as you like! If you have a time of year in mind that you’d like to shoot in, for example you know you’d like to have some pictures in Autumn, then just give me a shout and secure your slot! We would pencil in a date in your desired month which can be moved slightly if need be, but by booking in and paying your deposit then you know your space is secure. For time sensitive sessions such as maternity or newborn sessions I definitely suggest booking as far ahead as you’re comfortable to just to ensure I have space for you in the optimum time window.
